PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate measuring of an intake air amount, at a time of starting which is unsuitable for measurement by means of such as an air flow meter. SOLUTION: This intake air measuring apparatus comprises a crank angle sensor 8 for detecting speed of an engine 1 and an ECU 6 for processing a sensor signal thereof. The ECU 6 calculates a periodical fluctuation difference between high engine speed and low engine speed, that is, rotation fluctuation. The ECU 6 can obtain an intake air amount from a prepared map indicating a relationship between the rotation fluctuation and volumetric efficiency based on the engine speed and the rotation fluctuation.
