PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition containing silica as a filler, capable of being stably processed, having an excellent wet performance and an excellent abrasion-resistant property, and improved in the irregularity of the performance. SOLUTION: This rubber composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component comprising a halogenated butyl rubber or the halogenated product of an isobutylene/p-methylstyrene copolymer and a conjugated diene-aromatic vinyl compound solution polymerization copolymer which comprises 20-60 wt.% of styrene units and 15-70 wt.% of 1,2-bonded diene units, and has a glass transition temperature of -70 to 0 deg.C, (B) 40-150 pts.wt. of silica having a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area of 100-300 m2/g, (C) 50-200 pts.wt. of a softener for rubbers, and (D) a silane coupling agent, and does not contain an amine- based antioxidant. |
