PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily installable upper-and-lower tank joint type septic tank having sufficient strength and also excellent in productivity by making the best use of the characteristic of both of the resins consisting of norbornene based cycloolefin and FRP. SOLUTION: In the septic tank 7 constituted with at least upper tank 8 and lower tank 9, the upper tank 8 is formed with fiber reinforced plastic and the lower tank 9 is formed with the resin consisting of norbornene based cycloolefin. In this way, the lightweight upper-and-lower tank joint type septic tank having the sufficient strength and impact resistance low in deforming amount is provided. And in the height of the septic tank, the impact resistance and weight saving are moreover contrived by making the lower tank larger in height than that of the upper tank.
