PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device of a washing machine which is capable of stopping the drive of a washing motor by shutting off the power source supply of the washing motor by a power source shut-off section even when a power source shut-off signal is outputted only from at least either of a door switch and a control section of these two sections. SOLUTION: The door open safety device of the washing machine comprises a door open sensing section 100 which outputs a door open signal and the power source shut-off signal, respectively when the door is opened, the control section 130 which output the power source shut-off signal when the door open signal is inputted from the door open sensing section 100 and the power source shut-off section 140 which shuts off the supply of the power source to the washing motor when the power source shut-off signal is inputted from at least either one of the door open sensing section 100 and the control section 130.
