Class 94(2) In a method of making string tied bags 1, the perforated bags are threaded on to two corresponding parallel tubes 10, 11 each containing a length of string 12, 13, a runner 15 being placed on the two strings which are then connected at 14, Fig. 4, after which a predetermined length of string and the foremost bag are drawn from the tubes and a further connection 16 made which is severed at 17, Fig. 5. The method may be used on plastic (e.g. polyethylene) bags and on bags with or without gusset folds. A hole in addition to the two used for tying may be provided for exhausting air from articles packed therein. |
