PURPOSE: An EL display device is provided to illuminate only desired parts with an EL device and to easily improve performance and productivity. CONSTITUTION: An EL display device includes the primary electrode layer(20) formed on the surface of a base panel(10), a radiation layer(30) on the primary electrode layer(20) and the secondary electrode layer(40a,40b) formed on the radiation layer(30). The EL display device is equipped with a transparent EL device on either side of the primary electrode layer(20) and the secondary electrode layer(40a,40b). An insulator(50) is inserted and blocks a radiation layer(30) to be formed between the primary electrode layer(20) and the secondary electrode layer(40a,40b) not to illuminate undesired part.
