PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lateral sealing mechanism for eliminating a structure of sliding a connecting member fixed on a rotating shaft and a cam follower in a lateral sealing mechanism of a bag making and packaging machine and drawing a locus other than a circle such as a D-shaped locus by a sealing section in the mechanism. SOLUTION: A lateral sealing mechanism is provided with a seal jaw 78, a fixed cam 75, a cam follower 76, a rotating shaft 80, a connecting member 79 and a shaft supporting section. The seal jaw 78 is heated and so moved annularly as to be brought into contact with and separated away from a cylindrical film. The fixed cam 75 is provided with the shape corresponding to the moving locus of the seal jaw 78. The seal jaw 78 is supported by the cam follower 76 moving along the fixed cam 75. The relative circular motion of the cam follower 76 with the rotation center of the rotating shaft is generated by the rotating shaft 80. The rotating shaft 80 is connected with the cam follower 76 by the connecting member 79. The rotating shaft 80 is supported movably by a shaft supporting section. |
