PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To very easily machine a rod-like member and a shaft member by forming a small-diameter fit-in rotary tool in which a rear shank of the rod-like member is fitted in a hole formed in the shaft member to be fixed. SOLUTION: A small-diameter rod-like member 5 having a cutting edge 4 at the tip and a shaft 6 in the rear thereof is formed, and on the other hand, a shaft member 7 provided with a piercing hole 8 is separately formed. The shank 6 of the rod-like member 5 is fitted in the hole 8 of the shaft member 7 and fixed to form a small-diameter fit-in rotary tool. The cutting edge 4 is previously formed for its sticking operation, but surface finishing for the shaft member 7 may be performed previously according to a securing means, or after they are fitted and secured, finishing may be performed. The material quality of the small rod-like member 5 is formed using cemented carbide made by a tungsten carbide or the like according to required cutting conditions of the cutting edge 4, and the material quality of the shaft member 7 may be formed using steel material or cemented carbide according to the required purpose such as height, tenacity, wear resistance, strength and light-weight.
