PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the double-layered structural honeycomb filter high in capturing efficiency, low in pressure loss, moreover low in pressure loss rising ratio and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: In the double-layered structural honeycomb filter for collecting dust provided with one layer or more than two layer coated layers consisting of the ceramic particles having the average particle size differ from the ceramic particles constituting the base material on the surface of the base material having a honeycomb structure, the average particle size of the coated layer contacting the base material is kept at more than 2/3 times and less than 1 times of average pore size of the base material, and also the average of the thickness of the coated layer contacting to the base material is kept at less than 7 times of average grain size of the coated layer.
