PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casing auger in which the occurrence of wear of and noise from a vane for transporting excavated matter is suppressed and excavated matter transporting efficiency is increased. SOLUTION: The end of a vane 11b provided for transporting excavated matter on a rotating shaft 11a is covered with a covering material 1 made of rubber or resin. By this, even if the vane 11b is brought into contact with a casing 12, the vane 11b becomes difficult to be worn, and noise becomes difficult to occur. In addition, because a clearance 14 between the end part of the covering material 13 and the casing 12 can be reduced to several mm which is smaller than before, the excavated matter becomes difficult to enter the clearance 14. Thus, noise due to slidable crashing of the excavated matter and also a reduction in service life of a casing auger 1 become difficult from occurring.
