PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a calcium absorption accelerating composition useful as a medicine for humans or animals, a food and drink, a modified milk powder, an enteral nutrient, a healthy food and drink, a feed or bait additive, etc., by including a difructose dianhydride IV. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (A) difructose dianhydride IV as an active ingredient and preferably further (B) an oligosaccharide and (C) calcium. The ingredient A is preferably contained in an amount of >=1 expressed in terms of weight ratio based on the ingredient C. Oral administration with a tablet, a capsule, a granule, etc., can be cited as the administration form when using the composition as a pharmaceutical type. The preparation can be formulated by using an auxiliary such as an excipient, a binder, a disintegrating agent or a lubricant. The daily dose thereof used for an adult and based on 1 kg body weight is preferably 0.01-1,000 mg administered in the case of intravenous administration, 0.01-1,000 mg administered in the case of intrgmuscular administration and 1-1,000 mg administered in the case of oral administration.
