PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly and certainly remove a surplus ink from a wiping roller for an intaglio printing press and prevent bubbles from being generated in a cleaning liquid with the inhibition of deterioration in the cleaning power of a cleaning liquid and further, control the heat generation of a roller to obtain a printed matter of high quality over a long time and enable rapid printing with the lessening of a load to be borne by an operator. SOLUTION: The wiping device for this intaglio printing press is constituted of a wiping roller 11, a first cleaning member 3, a second cleaning member 4, a finishing blade 10 and a cleaning liquid circulation control tank 15 which recovers a cleaning liquid dripping from each cleaning member 4 and recirculates the liquid to each cleaning member. In this case, the first cleaning member 3 is arranged in the extremity of the upstream side of the roller 11 surface and the cleaning liquid flows down the surface in a laminar stream state. The second cleaning member 4 is arranged below the first cleaning member 3 and the cleaning liquid is scraped by the finishing blade 10 located at the extremity of the downstream side. Thus the cleaning cycle is enabled by the cleaning liquid circulation control tank 15 installed at the lowermost stage.
