PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display on/off apparatus of a mobile communication terminal and the method thereof are provided to save the battery power by turning off a liquid crystal display apparatus while a user doesn't use his mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A control part(10) controls the whole operation of a mobile communication terminal. A keypad(20) is composed of a key input part(24) and a display control key(22). The key input part(24), comprising a plurality of number keys and function keys, outputs the key data for the keys to the control part(10). A power supply part(40) supplies powers to the keypad(20), the control part(10) and a liquid crystal display(30). The liquid crystal display(30), composed of a display control part(32) and a display part(36), displays the display data for the key data, inputted from the key input part(24), into texts and icons and receives a display control signal inputted from the control part(10) or the display control key(20) to turn on/off the display part(36). |
