PURPOSE: A steam turbine is provided which has a turbine stator arranged along a main axis and also a method of a low pressure steam turbine is provided. CONSTITUTION: A steam turbine (1) which has guide vanes (5a). At least one guide vane (5a) has a hollow space (6). This hollow space (6) is connected with a fluid line (7) for introducing fluid (8) as well as port ducts (9a, 9b), which open at the outer surface (10) of the guide vane (5a). A process for cooling the steam turbine (1) in ventilation operation is provided.
