PURPOSE: A cosmetic or dermatological composition comprising at least one alkynyl carbamate and at least one polyol is provided which has strong and durable antibacterial activity being effective on treating Malassezia sp. related inflammatory skin diseases and/or desquamating diseases and dandruff. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic and dermatological composition includes: (a) at least one alkynyl carbamate of the following formula(I), where X is a halogen atom and R is one selected from the group consisting of hydrogen atom, alkyl group and hydroxyalkyl group; and (b) at least one polyol selected from the group consisting of unesterified polyol, C1-10 (poly)alkyl polyol ether, C2-C20 (poly)alkenyl polyol ether and glycosyl polyol ether, where the polyol is either saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched or cyclic compound, optionally containing hetero atom or an additional chemical functional group selected from carbonyl functional group and carboxyl functional group, in a physiologically acceptable medium.
