PURPOSE: An interface method between a mobile station and a keyboard is provided to input a short message to a mobile station connected with a standard keyboard by using a connector. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer in a mobile station checks whether a keyboard jack is connected to a connector(300). If the keyboard jack is connected to the connector, a keyboard code value transmitted through the connector is used(302). After turning on a keyboard clock and reading the code value, the microcomputer carries out an operation related to the code value(303). The microcomputer ignores a keypad signal in the mobile station(304). The microcomputer processes by matching the code value provided from the keyboard and the keypad signal in the mobile station in a one-to-one ratio(305). According to a call connection request from an external mobile station subscriber, the microcomputer disables the clock of the keyboard(306).
