PURPOSE: A method for backing up charging data into a sub file unit in the mobile switching center is provided to prevent the loss of charging data by backing up charging data, in case that charging data cannot be transferred to a billing center or a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION: If an operator inputs an instruction to back up charging data to a charging backup magnetic tape using a local terminal, an MMP(Man Machine Processor), receiving the instruction, outputs a signal to execute the instruction(S100). If a CHIM(Charging Information Management), receiving the number and quantity of sub files, outputs a signal to request function execution(S200), a CDR(Charging Data Recording) calculates the location of sub files and reads the charging data in a charging disk(S300). The CDR records the charging data in a backup magnetic tape(S400) and outputs a result signal for instruction execution(S500). The MMP outputs a message for the instruction execution result to the local terminal(S600).
