PURPOSE: A method for processing call gapping and call filtering in the intelligent network is provided so that the gapping and filtering of an associated call can be processed in an associated intelligent network processor by instructing the intelligent network processor, appointed as a master, to process call gapping and call filtering. CONSTITUTION: A SCP(Service Control Point) appoints one out of AIP's(Advanced Intelligent Networks) as a master AIP(S31), and instructs the appointed master AIP to process call gapping and call filtering for a specific service(S32). The master AIP generates a call gapping or filtering message according to the call gapping or filtering instruction of the SCP(S33), and announces master ID's with the generated instruction message to each slave AIP(S34). The master AIP analyzes the state information transmitted from each slave AIP and confirms whether a fault is generated in each slave AIP(S35). In case that there is no fault in each slave AIP, the master AIP and each slave AIP continue to execute the associated call gapping and filtering. If a fault is generated, the master AIP regenerates an instruction message(S36), and announces the regenerated message to each slave AIP except the slave AIP wherein a fault was generated(S37).
