PURPOSE: A brake cylinder unit for railroad car is provided to correctly brake, improve a train service stability through automatic control when a gap between a wheel disk and a pad is over-lengthened or the disk and the pad is over-worn and maintain the braking state when the car is stop or an abnormal compressed air is provided. CONSTITUTION: A brake cylinder unit for railroad car having a piston head(200) engaged on cylinder body(100) for braking a wheel disk mounted on one place of a shaft by being expanded by compressed air provided from the railroad car comprises an adjusting tube(164), a thrust nut(104), an adjusting spindle(160), a main piston(114), a coupling spring(106) and a reset nut(150). The adjusting tube(164) is fixed to the inner side of the cylinder body(100) with a set screw(166). The thrust nut(104) is disposed in the adjusting tube(164), a vertical gear is formed on one end thereof and adjusting spring is formed on outer periphery thereof. The adjusting spindle(160) is mounted longitudinally on the center of the cylinder body(100) and has a cone coupling(136) of semi-ellipsoidal type on the front end thereof. An end of a spindle gear(161) formed as a screw type on the outer periphery of the body portion of the adjusting spindle(160) is engaged with the thrust nut(104). The main piston(114) having a gear coupling(134) contacting on the outer periphery of the cone coupling(136) advances by a supply of compressed air. The coupling spring(106) moves the adjusting spindle(160), the thrust nut(104) and the piston head(200). The reset nut(150) can adjust the location of the thrust nut(104).
