Matls are machined using a superimposed fluid, (e.g. oxygen), and a coolant on the workpiece. The coolant is pref. applied concentrically on the upper and/or lower side of the part being machined and can be water, soluble cutting oils, or inert gas. The coolant prevents the considerable problems which can occur due to overheating of the workpiece, e.g. dimensional and structural alterations, esp. with fine, intricate machining and by attaching the upper coolant channel to the laser jet, the end of the laser remains cool.
|
