Two end-to end frustrated conical rollers (1, 2), cover the width of the material. The side of greatest diameter is just outside the edge of the material band (7). Preferred features: Axes of roller rotation (3, 4) are mutually-inclined, each to the extend of its half-angle, such that, at one location around the circumferential surfaces, the roller pair is in perfect, straight-line alignment. An adjuster (idler roller) is provided in addition, to vary the band wrapping angle around the rollers.
