A method and apparatus for authenticating a signature including the sampling of a signature (100) and storing data representative of the signature, converting the data to high dimensions vectors (200), feeding the high dimension vectors to an unsupervised neural network (300), performing a high order principal component extraction process on the high dimension vectors to thereby identify clusters of high dimension points (310), and analyzing the clusters to determine, based on previously stored information, the authenticity of the signature (500).
