Feed device for tape-mounted components includes a transport wheel (TR) having transport-pins (TS) which grip into the transport holes (TL) of the tape (G). At least one drive motor (AM) drives the wheel (TR) so that rotation of the drive motor effects a transport path (TN) or movement of the tape (G) which corresponds to a fraction of the spacing of the component 'pockets' on the tape. A sensor (5) detects the number of rotations of the drive motor (AM) and a mechanical abutment (MA) operating against an abutment surface joined to the drive motor and placed across a tangential direction, stops the motor rotating in the full rotation position. The mechanical abutment is made switchable by an active adjustment element to lift off the abutment surface at the start of the feed rotation of the drive motor, and can be shifted into the path of movement of abutment surface before completion of the full rotation of the motor.
