A dispensing port for a drinks container has a plastic moulded fitting (20) which is clipped into the opening of the container and which is sealed by a removable plastic seal (20) to form a gas tight closure. The seal can be a applied to the outside lip of the fitting and is removed by pulling on a grip tag. This allows a dispensing duct (100) to be inserted e.g. into the inlet pipe for a dispensing tap. Alternately the seal can be fitted to a sloping flange on the inside of the fitting and is displaced when the tap is fitted.
