A filter insert for the drain in a shower cabinet, in a wash basin, bath or other washing installations has a flexible construction for simple removal and cleaning. The user grips the filter between thumb and forefinger for fitting and removal. No separate fasteners are required. The grid can have a simple spiral shape and is held in place by its elasticity.
