PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foamable rubber composition capable of exhibiting excellent conductivity, stable contact property, etc., by adding a small amount of highly viscous ethylene-propylene-diene ternary copolymer(EPDM) to a composition comprising low to middle viscosity EPDM and carbon black. SOLUTION: This foamable rubber composition is obtained by adding (C) a high viscosity EPDM (subpolymer) in an amount of 1-30 wt.% based on the total amount of the polymers A/C to a composition which comprises (A) a low to middle viscosity EPDM (main polymer) and (B) carbon black in a state capable of producing a foamed rubber product. The viscosity of the component A is preferably 8-50 (ML 1+4: 100 deg.C), and the viscosity of the component B is >51. The composition may preferably further be mixed with a surface tension-reducing agent (preferably a polysiloxane modified so as to increase compatibility with the EPDM) having the good compatibility with the EPDM in an amount of 0.05-15 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the component A. |
