PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an apparatus practically by providing an ink jet head recovery system which sucks ink idly discharged from an ink discharge part, irradiates a near ultraviolet light to an ink-absorbing body and controls driving of a near ultraviolet light-irradiating means, and including a catalyst for decomposing a dye component included in the ink into the ink-absorbing body. SOLUTION: An ink-absorbing body assembly 25 for absorbing ink idly discharged at a head recovery time is set adjacent to a capping member. The ink-absorbing body assembly 25 has an ink-absorbing body 26 and a holding member 27 for holding the ink-absorbing body 26. The ink-absorbing body assembly 25, a near ultraviolet ray-emitting means and a control device for controlling driving constitute an ink jet head recovery system. The ink-absorbing body is formed of a nonwoven fabric to improve a suction efficiency and a photocatalysis efficiency. Ink is prevented from caking and, the ink-absorbing body can be used without generating clogs thereto. |
