PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting type thermal insulating material, capable of arranging the necessary amount of thermal insulating agent in accordance with the peripheral length of walls for a thermal insulating vessel employed for the thermal insulating delivery of food stuffs and the like. SOLUTION: A connecting type thermal insulating material is provided with two pieces or more of thermal insulating material units 1 and connecting units 2 for connecting the thermal insulating material units 1. A thermal insulating material unit 1A is provided with a plurality of thermal insulating agent receiving parts 11 and first bent units, connecting the thermal insulating agent receiving parts 11. The thermal insulating agent receiving part 11 is provided with a hollow rod type and receives thermal insulating agent while the first bent unit can be bent about an axle in a direction parallel to the thermal insulating material receiving part 11. The connecting unit 2 is provided with a pair of holder parts 21, 21 and second bent parts 22 for connecting the holder parts 21, 21. The holder part 21 can retain the thermal insulating agent receiving units 11 while the second bent parts 22 connect the holder parts 21, 21 so that the holder parts 21, 21 are retained in parallel to the retaining thermal insulating agent receiving parts 11, 11 and are constituted so as to be bendable about an axle in the direction parallel to the retaining thermal insulating agent receiving parts 11.
