PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent heat transmission from a rotary shaft of an electric motor to a boss, by forming a boss hole of a relatively large diameter in the center of the boss, mounting a metal cooling plate within the boss hole, and forming a plurality of vent holes between the boss hole and a rotary-shaft receiving hole in the cooling plate. SOLUTION: In this fan, a plurality of blades 2 are integrally provided on the outer periphery of a bowl-shaped boss 1 so as to project radially from the boss 1. A boss hole 4 having a relatively large diameter is formed in the center of the boss 1. A cooling plate 5 that is formed by a metal plate such as aluminum and stainless steel is mounted within the boss hole 4 with the outer periphery of the cooling plate 5 being embedded within the boss 1. In the cooling plate 5, a multiplicity of vent holes 7 are formed in a portion that surrounds a hole 6 for receiving a rotary shaft 3. With such a structure, even if the heat of an electric motor 9 is transmitted to the cooling plate 5 through the rotary shaft 3, the transmitted heat is cooled by the cooling plate 5 itself, and an air flow 12 passes through the vent holes 7. As a result, further efficient cooling can be achieved.
