PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a useless power consumption when word lines are driven even if the word lines are different from one another in load among memory blocks. SOLUTION: A semiconductor device where memory cells and word line drive cells are each connected to word lines is designed through following processes; a process ST1 where the load of a word line is calculated based on arrangement data on memory cells (e.g. number of memory cells connected to each word line), processes ST2 and ST3a to ST3c where an optimal word line drive cell is selected out of word line drive cells (leaf cells A1 to A3) different from each other in drive capacity (e.g. drive capacity of a power transistor) corresponding to the load L of a word line, and processes ST4a to ST4c where memory cells and word line drive cells are arranged. |
