PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embody light emission colors of plural colors or above with a small size at a low cost. SOLUTION: A small-sized and inexpensive organic electroluminescence(EL) element 100 is used as the back light of an external LCD display section 4 which displays information, for example, a battery check result, of a camera. This organic EL element 100 controls the drive of a drive circuit 103 by a CPU 102. When the organic EL element 100 is forward biased, the element emits light in green and when the element is reverse biased, the element emits light in red. Further, the forward and reverse biases are changed over by a duty ratio, by which the element is changed over as if the light is emitted in yellow which is the intermediate color thereof. The CPU 102 selects these light emission colors according to the battery check result. |
