PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method for an optically functional film which uses a coating process with no heating steps, yields a gel thin film having a low refractive index of 1.38 to 1.46 and has advantages of large-scale production and low equipment cost, and an optically functional film obtained through this preparation method. SOLUTION: An optically functional film comprises a gel layer supported directly on a substrate or via other layers. The optically functional film is prepared by producing an applied layer from an alkoxy silane hydrolysate solution, prepared by hydrolyzing a silicon alkoxide of the formula: RmSi(OR')n (wherein R is an 1-10C alkyl group or a reactive group such as a vinyl group, a (meth)acryloyl group, an epoxy group, an amide group, a sulfonyl group, a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group or the like; R' is an 1-10C alkyl group; and m+n is an integer of 4), through an application method (solution method), and subsequently curing the applied layer by an active energy ray (e.g. ultraviolet ray) to yield an organopolysiloxane layer. |
