PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image blurring and smears caused by time deviation between field images by arranging a reflection mirror on the subsequent stage of a television lens or in the space between the lenses, guiding light beams deflected by the reflection mirror to an image pickup element used exclusively for still images and arranging a mechanical shutter in the optical path of a still picture image pickup system. SOLUTION: In a still picture image pickup system 3, a mechanical shutter 36 for still picture image pickup is arranged between a half mirror 31 and a lens group 32 for still picture image pickup which has exactly the same configuration as the 5th group, and the shutter 36 is set so as to be open during the charge storage period of a 1st field alone in accordance with one-frame image reading.
