PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit an efficient use of a space between rotors by mounting a plurality of rotors on a drive shaft of the oil pump coaxially and integrally with each other and providing a relief valve, through which oil delivered from each pump chamber accommodating each of these rotors passes, in a space between each pair of two adjacent rotors. SOLUTION: In the typical oil pump, a first and a second pump chambers 6a, 7a are formed in a front and a rear blocks 6, 7 and rotors 9, 11 are rotatably housed in the respective chambers. Lubricant stored in the oil pan is drawn passing an intake opening 7c, an intake opening 7b, a strainer 12, an oil sump chamber 8c, an intake port, and then into the pump chamber 6a (7a) by way. The pressure of the oil is then boosted in the pump chamber 6a (7a) before the oil is delivered from a discharge port via a discharge opening into a cylinder block. To suppress the discharge pressure within a predetermined value at this time, a relief valve is disposed to a spacer block 8 between two adjacent rotors 9, 10 so that it partly overlaps the rotors 9, 10 as viewed from the axial direction.
