PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple type press machine capable of simplifying a drive mechanism, reducing an installation space and efficiently exchanging a die for the simple type press machine having a C type frame. SOLUTION: A press drive cylinder 40 and a press guide mechanism are arranged in a frame 30 under a die arrangement space 31 of the C type frame 30 having the die arrangement space 31. By arranging die shelves 60a, 60b to accommodate stand-by dies in plural sets at the rear side of the die arrangement space 31, the dead spaces of a die exchange device and the frame are eliminated.
