PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce friction by forming a locking member disposed to progressively limit the stationary bending and stretching of the articular cones relating to the tibia plate by providing this member with tibia inserts of the shape with which the femur section is progressively limited in movement relating to the tibia section when knee bend and stretch from the position where knee completely extends. SOLUTION: This artificial limb of the knee has the tibia section 2 having a tibia rod 5 and the femur section 4 for supporting the articular cones 8, 9 engaging the sliding surface of the first tibia insert 11 on the tibia plate 6 and, in addition, has the locking member for limiting the transverse rotation and stationary bending and stretching of the articular cones 8 and 9 relating to the tibia plate 6 from the prescribed bending and stretching angle to angle zero of the knee. The locking member is formed by providing the same with the second tibia insert 12 projecting into the space between the two articular cones 8 and 9 fixed to the tibia plate 6. This second tibia insert 12 fits into the seat portion formed by the space in the position where the knee extends, by which the shape thereof is so selected that the rotation around the axis of the femur relating to the tibia can be limited.
