PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure sufficient daylighting for all dwelling units by computing the distance of a daylighting possible range to determine the depth of a garden, forming the half of the frontage of a dwelling unit as the garden and the remaining half as an open ceiling on the floor concerned, and arranging the relation of the garden and open ceiling reversely on the floors directly above and below. SOLUTION: The distance of a daylighting possible range is computed according to the openings of dwelling units and the position of the sun in a building lot to erect columns and to connect them by girders 4. On the floor concerned, plane arrangement is made by arranging beams 5 in the half length positions of the frontage of each dwelling unit and forming parts provided with slabs as gardens 1 and parts without slabs as open ceilings 2. The arrangement of the gardens 1 and open ceilings 2 are made reverse on a floor directly above and on a floor directly below. With this plane arrangement with three layers as a set, the gardens 1 on the floor concerned can have space with ceiling height equivalent to two floors. Sufficient daylighting can therefore be ensured for each dwelling unit through this space.
