PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery at low cost and secure superiority in cycle characteristics and safety against overcharging by providing a positive electrode using lithium-nickel complex oxide of regular laminar rock salt structure for a positive electrode active material and a negative electrode using graphitization retarding carbon for a negative electrode active material. SOLUTION: Graphitization retarded carbon is used for a negative electrode active material. Among the graphitization retarded carbons, phenol resin burned substance, furfuryl alcohol resin burned substance, polyacrylonitrile carbon fiber, pseudo-isotropic carbon are given. The graphitization retarded carbon is formed by burning, for example, organic compound. Among starting materials, conjugation type resin such as furfuryl alcohol resin, furfuranol resin, and furan resin and organic polymer compound such as cellulose and its derivative are given. Lithium-nickel complex oxide of regular laminar rock salt structure is used for a positive electrode active material and the stoichiometry of this substance is expressed by LiNiO2. |
