PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control device capable of reducing vibration in a horizontal direction to a building, especially a prefabricated house, effectively and at low cost, and the building. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a rod type weight 1 having a rectangular cross section, a laminated rubber 2 to provide restoration force in a horizontal direction to the weight 1 while supporting the weight 1, and a damping member 4 to provide damping force to horizontal motion of the weight 1. This is also composed of an auxiliary spring 5 to adjust a natural frequency in the horizontal direction of the weight 1, a stopper 6 for preventing excessive displacement and removal of the weight 1, and a bracket 3, thereby horizontal vibration of a building is reduced. |
