OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTING WIRE AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxide superconducting wire having heat resistance and insulative coating hard to come off. SOLUTION: Oxide superconducting wires 10a and 10b are provided with oxide superconducting filaments 12a and 12b, stabilizers 14a and 14b that cover the filaments and consist of silver or a silver alloy, and copper oxide layers 16a and 16b that cover the stabilizers 14a and 14b and have a thickness of 5μm or more. The copper oxide layers 16a and 16b can be obtained whereby copper provided on the stabilizers 14a and 14b by plating is heated at a temperature of 375 deg.C to 425 deg.C under the oxidizing atmosphere.
