PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a modified polyolefin synthetic pulp having a larger breaking length of fibers than that of a conventional PP single fibers and polyolefin synthetic pulp, a high internal bonding strength and a heat sealing strength equal to or higher than those of the conventional PP fibers and synthetic pulp and formable into a tissue paper. SOLUTION: This modified polyolefin synthetic pulp is made of a modified polyolefin resin graft modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative as a raw material. An ethylene homopolymer, an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer, a propylene homopolymer or a propylene-α-olefin copolymer graft modified with the unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative is cited as the modified polyolefin resin. The modified polyolefin resin is preferably a polyolefin having 0.01-10 wt.% graft ratio thereof expressed in terms of the unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative monomer.
