PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exchanging device of the short sides in a mold used for the assembly type mold which contributes to shortening of the stopping time in the casting and thus, can improve the productivity. SOLUTION: In the exchanging device 30 of the short sides in the mold used for the assembly type mold 10 which exchanges one pair of the mold short sides 12, 12a provided with hanger parts 27 at the upper part thereof above a continuous casting equipment body, one pair of hanging means 32, 32a hangable to the hanger parts 27 of the mold short sides 12, 12a, an elevating/lowering means 33 elevatable/lowerable in the state of hanging to the hanger parts 27 with the hanging means 32, 32a and an exchanging carriage 34, with which the mold short sides 12, 12a can be shifted between above the continuous casting equipment body and mold short side laying tables 31, 31a in the state of hanging up the mold short sides 12, 12a with the hanging means 32, 32a and the elevating/lowering means 33, are provided.
