PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain polyester fibers with no yield point in its loadelongation curve, having apparent Young's modulus, initial stress and initial elongation each within a specific range, and capable of giving fabrics rich in elasticity with high stretchability and resilience, having high tear strength and shock absorbability and hard to develop pills. SOLUTION: The polyester fibers have the following characteristics: in the load-elongation curve, there is no yield point, having apparent Young's modulus of <=70 kgf/mm2, pref. <=50 kgf/mm2, more pref. <=35 kgf/mm2, initial stress of <=0.8 g/d, pref. <=0.7 g/d, more pref. <=0.6 g/d, initial elongation of 20-50%, pref. 25-50%, more pref. 30-50%, noncrystalline region density of pref. 1.31-1.37 g/cm3, the degree of orientation of noncrystalline region of pref. 0.10-0.40, and the ratio: noncrystalline region density/the degree of orientation of noncrystalline region of >=3.2.
