PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel pigment having particularly high color fastness to light. SOLUTION: Provided is a metal complex of an azo compound which conforms to a compound of the formula (wherein R and R' independently are each OH, NH2, NH-CN, an acylamino, or an arylamino; and R1 and R1' independently are each -OH or -NH2) or to one tautomer thereof and further comprises at least one guest compound, characterized in that the metal complex corresponds to a mono-, di-, tri-, or tetra-anion of an azo compound represented by the formula containing a metal selected from the group consisting of Ca, Zn, Cu, Fe, Co, Sr, BA, Cr, Sn, Al, Mg, Cd, Pb, and La.
