PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state relay with high responsiveness in which any malfunction can not be caused even when an overvoltage is applied without providing any outside part such as a varister. SOLUTION: This solid state relay is provided with a light emitting element 46 for emitting a light upon receiving an input signal, and a photo-TRIAC 44 for turning on when receiving this light, and for turning on a TRIAC 45, and an overvoltage protecting circuit 49 incorporated in the TRIAC 44 for turning off a thyristor 44a or 44b when an overvoltage which is a non-repetition peak-off voltage or more is applied. |
