PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase outputs, by equipping an engine (a four-cycle or six-cycle engine) which uses a piston valve or a rotary valve with a valve which opens at the top dead center and closes at the bottom dead center in an intake process (6-cycle) and a valve which opens at the bottom dead center and closes before the top dead center in a compression process. SOLUTION: When a piston valve is used in a four-cycle gasoline engine, an intake valve 1 specifically for mixture, an exhaust valve 2, a valve 3 which opens at the top dead center and closes at the bottom dead center in an intake process, and a valve 4 which opens at the bottom dead center and closes before the top dead center in a compression process are disposed. As measures in case of excessively opening the valve which opens at the bottom dead center and closes before the top dead center in the compression process, an intake valve 5 specifically for air is disposed, which opens before mixture excessively expands and becomes resistance to rotate and which closes at the bottom dead center in an expansion process. Mixture is supplied via a carburetor 7 to a vent opened and closed by the intake valve 1. Vents opened and closed by the valves 3, 4 are mutually communicated with each other through an empty space 11.
