INTEGRATED WHEEL END ASSEMBLY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified hub locking actuator device with is formed as an integrated part of a steering knuckle. SOLUTION: This wheel end assembly is provided with a steering knuckle which is coupled with an automobile to integratedly store a hub lock-actuator assembly 88. A wheel hub 38 is freely rotated by a bearing assembly fitted to the steering knuckle. The wheel hub 38 is provided with a flange for fitting a wheel and a drive flange 72 having an outer circumference provided with a plurality of external gears 78. A short shaft is provided with an inner end part on which a housing 82 for CV joint is formed. A clutch member 84 having internal gears 86 to be engaged with external gears 80, 78 of the housing and drive flange slides in the axial direction between the first position where the driving torque is not transmitted to the wheel hub 38 from a half shaft and a second position where this driving torque is transmitted.
