FIBER OPTIC GYROSCOPE USING DYNAMIC SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A fiber optic gyroscope(FOG) is provided to reduce power consumption and starting time for system, while allowing for a mass production of gyroscope. CONSTITUTION: An FOG comprises a FOG sensor(71) for outputting a sine wave signal of one cycle during one turn of rotation; a sensor rotating unit for rotating the FOG sensor; a true north trace signal generating unit for outputting a pulse signal during one cycle of signal wave signal output from the FOG sensor; a signal processing unit for filtering the noise component from the sine wave signal output from the FOG sensor, performing a signal processing to the pulse signal output from the true north trace signal generating unit and the filtered sine wave signal, and outputting a phase difference signal between the true north direction and heading direction; and a true north trace processing unit for making the phase difference signal output from the signal processing unit zero level, by allowing the true north trace signal generating unit to be directed toward the true north even when the heading direction rotates in an arbitrary direction.
