<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element in which lowering of voltage applied to a liquid crystal caused by capacitive voltage division is prevented and reflectance of pixel electrodes is improved. SOLUTION: A pixel electrode layer 3 of an active matrix substrate 1 which has a display part having a pixel circuit matrix comprises a pixel electrode 105 formed of a metal, an alignment controlling layer 108 disposed on the pixel electrode 105, and a first dielectric film 106 and a second dielectric film 107 which are formed between the pixel electrode 105 and the alignment controlling layer 108. That is, by forming at least a two-layer laminated film between the pixel electrode 105 and the alignment controlling layer 108 of the pixel electrode layer 3 and keeping the film thickness of each layer to <=100 nm, lowering of voltage applied to a liquid crystal caused by capacitive voltage division is minimized. Besides, the reliability of the laminated film as a protective film is improved because even if pin holes are generated on one of the films, they can be filled up in a complementary manner.</p> |
