PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture processor which can enlarge/reduce a picture in a two-dimensional direction by a simple method without deteriorating the quality of the picture and without storing picture element density after conversion in one direction. SOLUTION: MPU 11 converts the percentage of a main scanning direction and that of a subscanning direction, which are inputted from a ten key pad 16a, into a magnification m/n and a magnification p/q, which are shown by fractions. The rate of weighting in the main scanning direction and weighting in the subscanning direction are decided by the addition/subtraction of the numerator (m) and the denominator (n) of a magnification m/n in the main scanning direction and the addition/substation of the numerator (p) and the denominator (q) of the magnification p/q in the subscanning direction. A picture element after conversion is stored in a picture memory 18 in a main scanning direction enlargement processing and a main scanning direction reduction processing.
